DIY Baby Scarecrow Costume
.
Needed Materials:
-overalls & plaid shirt
-burlap
-felt
-hot glue & glue gun
-raffia
-paint
This costume was super easy and fun to make. All you really need are some overalls and a plaid shirt.
As for the hat I folded some felt into a cone and hot glued it to a green sunhat. I added a border of burlap with random patches of raffia sticking out for a more traditional scarecrow look.
Here is the back view.
We have an obscene amount of overalls that have been given to us (pros to having lots of friends with older children) so we felt comfortable painting on these. The pumpkin butt adds the perfect playful touch!
We just used some dollar store raffia to give the stuffed hay effect. I glued the raffia to the strips of burlap first and then to the overalls themselves.
It would have been so cute and perfect to have some "hay" coming out of this pocket too but I know Ezra would try to eat it, haha. I added the belt of burlap to up the country feel.
I had some felt leftover from another project I am working on so I cut some squares to use as patches.
Lastly, I added some raffia/burlap strips on bottom as well.

I'd love to see your kiddo's homemade Halloween costumes!
Happy Halloween!
