Sensory Beans: Valentine's Edition
I love the pastel pink hues of this sensory bin, but if I'm being honest I was going for much more vibrant beans in this sensory bin. Nevertheless, I will tell you how I achieved this end result.
You'll need:
-red & yellow food coloring
-rubbing alcohol
-16oz bag of light colored beans
-Ziploc bags
Divide the 16oz bag of beans into 3 equal amounts, each in their own separate Ziploc bag.
Next put a cap full of the rubbing alcohol in each bag.
Now add your food coloring...
pink-a few drops of red
red-many drops of red
coral-a few drops of red
with a few less drops of yellow
Now give each bag a good shaking until all the beans are coated.
Immediately following the bag shaking...spread out the beans onto cookie sheets to dry overnight.
You may want to put a barrier between the beans and pan to prevent staining.
And there you have it! They are definitely not as vibrantly colored as many of the other beans on Pinterest but I just love the light blush hues it gives off when all mixed together...making it just as fun for mommy to play with too. I will also say this is much easier to clean up than the sensory rice we made earlier this week...so if you are not big on messes this may be the route to go. I don't messes so much when it comes to sensory play so I love the both, and so does Ezra.
Happy Valentine's Day!
