Trick-or-Treat Bag (DIY)

Trick-or-Treat Bag

This bag was a fun little evening project for Ezra's first trick-or-treat bag.
I have been slightly obsessed with felt projects lately and found an adorable baby Frankenstein ornament on Pinterest to get inspiration from. I usually don't buy things...I just figure out how to make it myself for cheaper. I got all the materials to make this bag at Joann's. Their coupons made that materials for this bag next to nothing! I can't wait to see Ezra walking around in his little costume on Halloween holding this bag.

Here are the materials...

Four pieces of felt. Black. Grey. Green. White (which I ended out not using).

Black pompom garland. The pompoms are actually bats, how cute!

Small sized burlap tote bag.

Here is the finished product.

I didn't do a detailed tutorial because honestly I was just winging it. I simply cut the felt pieces to match the ones in the 'inspiration picture' and then sewed them together. I added a bit of stuffing to the inside to give it a plump look. Once finish I attached it to the bag by sewing the four corners to the bag. I love the 3D aspect of it.

As for the garland I cut it to size and hot glued it on to the tote. There is also a strip of the garland on the back side too so it is not completely bare.

Here is our tote with some of our Halloween favorites. We carry these pumpkins from room to room every day. I am constantly finding those three board books in the hands of my little one just begging to be read. Lastly...Five Little Pumpkins, where do I begin? It is probably read 10 times a day. We have motions to it too that my 10 month old has completely memorized. At this point we know it by heart and often recite it when away from home or even in the car. It is and always will be a family favorite!

Hope this post inspires you to get crafting for or with your little ones. Happy Halloween!
